Guest Spin Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Gurus, If I install Windows components on my Windows Server 2003 SP2 computer, I first get prompted for the location of the Windows Server 2003 SP2 CD-ROM and I point the installer to the C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles directory. Then I et prompted for the location of the original Windows Server 2003 CD-ROM, which means I have to point it to the CD-ROM drive, which only contains the Windows Server 2003 CD-ROM (with SP1) media. Then the installer is happy and finishes it's job. My question is, why does the installer ask to pull files from the SP2 CD-ROM directory only to later ask for files from the SP1 CD-ROM? Why wouldn't it want all files to be from the SP2? -- Spin
