Guest the K Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I have IE 6 and whenever I go to Adobe's site to install flash, I run the installer and get no messages that something went wrong. However, when I try to view videos, I get the message that I have Javascript turned off or I don't have the latest flash player. I went to tools/internet options/advanced but didn't notice anything about Javascript. This doesn't make sense, because I can view flash videos in Firefox fine.

Reset your IE security zones to default maybe? -- Galen (Not Current MS-MVP) My Geek Site: http://kgiii.info Web Hosting: http://whathostingshould.be "In solving a problem of this sort, the grand thing is to be able to reason backwards. That is a very useful accomplishment, and a very easy one, but people do not practise it much. In the every-day affairs of life it is more useful to reason forwards, and so the other comes to be neglected. There are fifty who can reason synthetically for one who can reason analytically." - Sherlock Holmes

The settings I have for Internet, Trusted sites and Restricted sites are:- <disable> Display video and animation on a webpage that does not use external media player <enable> Scripting of Java applets AFAIK these are the default settings. I haven't tried it yet but it looks like enabling the "Display video and animation on a webpage that does not use external media player" setting may do the trick. -- Cheers . . . JC
Guest the K Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Re: Can't use Flash with IE I opened IE and went to Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom: I see the scripting of Java applets is Enabled. I don't see anything about Java Permission The security level for the Intenet zone Iis set at medium.
