Can't use Flash with IE

Recommended Posts

I have IE 6 and whenever I go to Adobe's site to install flash, I run the

installer and get no messages that something went wrong. However, when I try

to view videos, I get the message that I have Javascript turned off or I

don't have the latest flash player. I went to tools/internet

options/advanced but didn't notice anything about Javascript.

This doesn't make sense, because I can view flash videos in Firefox fine.

Reset your IE security zones to default maybe?

I am getting the same problem with IE7. I am using WinXP

Professional with SP2 and all updates but NOT SP3.

The settings I have for Internet, Trusted sites and Restricted

sites are:-

<disable> Display video and animation on a webpage that does not

use external media player

<enable> Scripting of Java applets

AFAIK these are the default settings.

I haven't tried it yet but it looks like enabling the "Display

video and animation on a webpage that does not use external media

player" setting may do the trick.

Re: Can't use Flash with IE

I opened IE and went to Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom:

I see the scripting of Java applets is Enabled. I don't see anything about

Java Permission

The security level for the Intenet zone Iis set at medium.
