Guest Hizonor Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I am running XP. I have tried to install iTunes on my computer so I can use a nano. However, I tunes cannot find the "My Music" folder because windows has changed the name to "Donovan's Music." I cannot change the folder name back to "My Music," since it is a special folder. To get around this, I followed iTunes instructions and created a new user on my computer, named it "Musicman," and sure enough there was a "My Music" folder under that user that allowed me to sync to the nano. However, the next time I accessed iTunes, it would not open because the "My Music" folder had been renamed "Musicman's Music," and could not be changed back. I bought a remote storage device, which had a "My Music" folder on it, and it worked one time, but its name was changed, too. How do I get a "My Music" folder on my machine that iTUnes can recognize, and how do I keep my file names from renaming themselves?

Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Re: Folder name change messes up my nano You can direst ITunes to save to any folder that you want under ITunes Edit/preferences/advanced. My files are all saved to (User Name)/My Music/ITunes. I have the latest version of ITunes 8.0.0.35 Doug W. - "Hizonor" <Hizonor@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:10D755C4-C1B9-4C39-A69F-37B0C167D305@microsoft.com... >I am running XP. How do I get a "My Music" folder on my machine that >iTUnes can recognize, and how do I keep my file names from renaming >themselves? Why bring this up here? This is a program written by Apple, not MS, and is NOT XP. Ask elsewhere
