Hi everyone

For some reason over the last couple of days my (default) font my Windows XP has changed to Times New Roman but the only issue is that when I try to change it, nothing happens. If I change it when updating a webpage, it stays showing me Times New Roman and not what I have changed it to. I have no idea what has happened as this has not happened before.

I would like to know if there is any way of setting my font back to default so it only shows what it is supposed to show and not times new roman only.

This only happens when I search the internet. It happens on 2 different users and also on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox. I do not know how to get it back to what it was before.

I dont know if this makes any sense but i hope it does. Thanks

Hi and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help.

Was there anything odd or untoward happened just previous to this happening, or did it just happen with no warning at all?

it does sound like there may be something unwanted lurking that has caused this.

If you do not have Malwarebytes installed, download and install it from here=

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Click on the white "Download now" button to download the free version, we don't need the paid for full version.

The page will change to possibly a C.Net page, to actually obtain the download, that is normal.

Once downloaded and installed, open it and update it to get the latest data, then run a quick scan.

Please copy and post the log that will open when the scan has finished.

I agree with Plastic Nev.

A web page will display a predefined font if the source code defines it. If not defined it will display per your browsers settings. You can disable defined fonts in your browser. Read this for example. It is for IE. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238299

For something to affect four different browsers is suspicious.

Do you see these fonts differently?
