When I run sfc /scannow, I get:

Windows File Protection could not initiate a scan of protected system files.

The specific error code is 0x000006ba [RPC server is unavailable.]

If that doesn't work then

Start

Run

"services.msc" (without the quotes)

Enter button or click okay

Locate the two RPC services.

Manually start them if they're not already started.

Perform system file check again and see if it works.

I guess the bigger question is why do you want to run SFC?

Well, I tried what you suggested and that still did not fix the problem. Why

run sfc, I have another issue where my help and support does not work and

they suggested that I run SFC.
