Guest hmm Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 When I select "All Programs" in the Start menu, the list of programs all appear in one column. This remains true even as new programs are added; that now I have to point to up and down arrows and scroll throught the list. In an earlier PC, I remember that the All Programs list would appear in two panes, not just one, making it easier to see all programs and quickly select any in the list. How do I restore this feature?
Guest Ron Badour Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Re: Show Start Menu's "All Programs" in two panes The classic view is still available. Right click the taskbar, select properties, start menu tab. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP Windows Desktop Experience "hmm" <hmm@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:06751AF7-8423-4FE0-BD37-6A2B7E6C6314@microsoft.com... > When I select "All Programs" in the Start menu, the list of programs all > appear in one column. How do I restore this feature? Try creating folders in the list (it works just like a Windows Explorer window). Then drag your program shortcuts into the folders. That will allow the list to have fly outs where your programs can be organized into categories (productivity, graphics, games, Internet etc). If you prefer the Windows Explorer interface you can edit the "all Programs" list using the "Explore all" and "Explore user" options on the "Start" button's context menu (right click the button).
Guest hmm Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 RE: Show Start Menu's "All Programs" in two panes Thanks Rey. That did the trick!
