snodge182 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Hi, I have a computer with motherboard: 'P5G41C-M LX' The motherboard has a 'E3400 2.6 GHz processor'. I also have a 500GB SATA hardrive from Seagate. I have 4GB of DDR3 RAM And I have a 450W Power Supply, model number: 'ATX-450' I was wondering if this computer would be compatible with a 'SAPPHIRE TECHNOLOGY Radeon HD 6770 Flex - 1 GB GDDR5 - PCI-Express 2.1 (11189-02-20G)'? KenB Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Hi Your P5G41C-M LX motherboard is a uATX ( ultra ATX ) board [ 9.6 x 8.5 inch ] This is much smaller than the standard ATX board. Your Video Card [ HD 6770 ] is a wide card ( dual slot ) There is a heatsink to the back and left of the blue PCIe x 16 slot ( the heatsink has ASUS written on it ) http://uk.asus.com/websites/Global/products/YraY16Bgg3U1mAW1/9PGim64gaskOVzn3_500.jpg I am unsure if your choice of card will fit without touching the heatsink. BenchZowner Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 It shall fit fine ( 98% sure ). Just to make sure do us a favor and tell us approx. how high the heatsink beneith the PCI-Express ( "dark" blue wide slot ) is. Quote
snodge182 Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 I've measured it and it's approximately 1mm taller than the PCI-Express, if this is alright then would the specs be alright for firmware/drivers etc? Quote
KenB Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 it's approximately 1mm taller than the PCI-Express, If this is the case then the card should fit. :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! BenchZowner Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Fits definitely. You should be ok with your current configuration, unless your PSU is made by Q-tec :p Quote
KenB Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 You will also need a 6 pin power connection from the PSU to the card. Not checked the specs of your PSU but if it hasn't got one then it is possible to create one from a spare molex connection.
