Guest Rich Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I'm having trouble accessing my safe mode. As soon as it comes to entering my password to get into my account, the system suddenly reboots and I don't get a chance to enter safe mode. Any way to fix this so it doesn't reboot on me automatically? TIA
Guest Gerry Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Re: will not enter safe mode Rich Try booting with only keyboard, mouse and monitor connected. It would help to see the complete Stop Error Report. Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced, Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before Automatically Restart. Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure. Check for variants of the Stop Error message. An alternative is to keep pressing the F8 key during Start-Up and select option - Disable automatic restart on system failure. Have you tried Last Known Good Configuration? Guest Luvrsmel Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Re: will not enter safe mode Gerry I unchecked the option you listed but its still rebooting automatically just after it shows me a password option in my account in safe mode. Also tried it in F8, diabled automatic restart, clicked F8 again for safe mode, got to password and then rebooted again before i could enter my password. Havent tried just keyboard mouse and monitor yet. Will post results...
