Windows Explorer stops responding

I'm running XP Home Edition, SP3 on a home network. When windows explorer is

open and another PC on the network is in use, and I navigate away from and

then back to windows explorer, it hangs for several seconds. After this

pause, the folders for My Documents and Network are displayed and I can then

access the other folders. Any suggestions on how to avoid this problem?
