Guest Trayon5 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I'm doing a clean re-install XPpro SP2 but set-up says my prod key is invalid. I have the cd and prod key sticker but no luck. Obviously XP was valid just a couple of days ago. HP workstation xw8000

It's awfully easy to mistake a "B" for an "8," a "G" for a "6," an "S" for a "5," or a "Q" for a "0" or "O." Fortunately, Microsoft had the good sense to leave the "1's," "I's," "O's," and "0's" out of the equation. Also, be sure that your <CapsLock> is _off_ while entering the Product Key -- this isn't supposed to make a difference, but I've seen it do so, on rare occasions. Guest Trayon5 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Re: Install won't recognize product key You're right. SCSI drivers and I'm using the same driver floppy that I used before but during set-up I DID get an error message stating the LSI adapter hadn't passed windows logo testing, would I still like to continue? I chose yes because at that point of the set-up there was no way of closing out short of pulling the plug. BTW device manager confirms there are 2 hd's. Given that I did this once before it's getting frustrating and embarrassing.
