Creating a desktop shortcut to view/delete cookies

The ONLY way I can view and delete individual cookies with WinXP SP3 is

START -> RUN -> keyin: c:\Documents and Settings\Owner\cookies

which allows me to view all cookies and delete individual cookies.

When I try to move this operation to a more convenient desktop shortcut

using the location

that works in a run keyin, nothing happens on clicking the icon.

How can I create a desktop shortcut thats equivalent to the run keyin?

Works for me. I simply right clicked on the desktop and 'new shortcut'

and typed in the C:\documents and settings\alan\cookies string and hit

enter. I now have a cookies folder shortcut on the desktop.

Are you running XP/SP3 ?

My system doesnt allow me to specify "david" in that string,

what happens if you specify the string = "Owner" instead of "alan" ?

1. in the run keyin

2. in the shortcut

That is not a valid folder in my system. My user name is Alan.

Maybe that's your problem, when you go to C:\documents and settings what

user names (other than all users and default user) are available? Then

that's the choices you have to pick from.

Try just opening Windows Explorer and migrate to the cookies folder, or

really the David / Owner folder. And then right click and drag the

cookies folder to your desktop and chose 'make shortcut'.

If you have a system setup with OWNER as the name, you may have changed

the display to DAVID but its still OWNER in the directory. When

specifying folder names, you have to go by the windows folder name!

Try :

Start>Run>cookies

You can make a shortcut using a variable :

%userprofile%\cookies
