Guest NEO50 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Running XP SP2. The mouse and keyboard stopped working. Keyboard is PS2 and Mouse is USB. I tried different USB ports with no success. The computer starts and is running but I can not see the XP log on screen because the flat screen is in energy save mode and says move mouse or touch keyboard to return to normal mode. I plugged the flat screen into my lap top in it is working ok so the problem is not the flat screen. The keyboard lights for about 1 to 2 seconds when I cut on the computer but then the lights go out and keyboard is not working. Any suggestions on how to fix. Thanks for all replies.

Perhaps your USB controller has had it. Does the keyboard work when you go into the BIOS?

Your keyboard, PS/2 port or BIOS might be defective. I suggest you try a different keyboard and repost your question in a hardware newsgroup.
