Unless you changed the password, it still is blank. For this case, press the enter key to enter a blank password. Jim

If you're trying to run a repair installation of Windows XP you may have hit the R key too early. It sounds as if you're in the Recovery Console. The Recovery Console is a command prompt environment where you can run a limited set of commands. Here's a web site with more info. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058 Take a look at these articles for more info on a repair installation. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm http://www.windowsxpprofessional.windowsreinstall.com/installxpcdrepair/indexfullpage.htm Good luck Nepatsfan

I uninstalled each each > driver then reinstalled..still dont work??? Are these all sudden, new problems? Did you just install WinXP SP3? Did you just install driver updates that were offered by Windows Update? What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is the subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/
