Hi there, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me...

I've got a short film I've got to make for Saturday, and half the footage captured was on someone else's video camera and they put it onto their Mac and then onto a USB for me. Once I copied them from the USB to my PC, whenever I open it I can't see the video but I can here it.

Any ideas people? I'd really appreciate some help. If there are any details you think might help you figure out the problem, let me know and I'll try and get you more info on the files etc.

Thanks!

Hi

What format are the files in? Are your codecs up to date? Which program are you using to open them?

Hi Kurt, If any of the above doesn't help, it may be worth while running it through a file converter to a different format, even WMV for instance.

Here is a link to an excellent and free converter called "Adapter"

If that can't dig the actual video out of the file, it isn't there to start off with, and you have got a bad copy. Yes, that can happen too.

Hey guys, thanks very much for your help.

I've had to start my project without all the footage and just do my best with what I got, due to the deadline being damn soon. But once I'm done with it, this information shall no doubt help me in the future.

Thanks again for your time, this is a good forum!
