Guest Michael Jennings Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Re: Dial up You could ask btopenworld if they're rejecting the laptop. If they are, it's probably easy to fix at their end. I'm not sure about support. They say, "You won't be charged until we agree how best to help you," so be careful not to agree. They'd want to get at least £25: http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayCategory.do?categoryId=CON-HM-IT-SUPORT-R1&s_cid=con_FURL_homeitsupport What you could do without calling btopenworld would be to route the laptop through the desktop, using internet connection sharing. If btopenworld is rejecting your laptop and wants £25 to recognize it, you ought not agree to that - share the connection, shop for a new ISP. Is there a check mark in the box for "hang up after sending and receiving"? How often does your email check mail. It could be the reason the phone hangs up.
