Guest Jason Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Re: KB950762 *causes * boot crash Re: KB950762 *causes * boot crash Best support is just to leave them uninstalled. I don't need driver hassles. Guest MowGreen [MVP] Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Re: KB950762 *causes * boot crash Re: KB950762 *causes * boot crash You do not understand what the issue is, Jason. The currently installed Bluetooth driver is *Critically VULNERABLE*. KB950672 is not a critical vuln, so yes, it is not vitally important that you get it installed. KB951376 addresses a Critical vuln - > This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in the Bluetooth stack in Windows > that could allow remote code execution. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability > could take complete control of an affected system. An attacker could then install programs; view, > change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. > > This security update is rated Critical for all supported editions of Windows XP and Windows Vista. Suggest you use the Workaround here if you're not going to 'bother' contacting MS for no-charge support : http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms08-030.mspx It's under 'Vulnerability Information', Bluetooth Vuln, Workarounds. Even if you do not use Bluetooth, the system is still *** Critically Vulnerable *** MowGreen [MVP 2003-2008] =============== *-343-* FDNY Never Forgotten =============== Jason wrote: > Best support is just to leave them uninstalled.
