Lightning_Strike Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 I have an hp and I'm looking to upgrade my computers graphics card My specs are: Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 830 Processor 2.80 GHz RAM: 8 GB System Type: Windows 7 64 bit My current ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics card dosnt seem up to par with most games I try to play, such as World of Warcraft I cant play that on high resolutions without major lag. If my processor is holding back my options of a graphics card any suggestion for that would also be helpfull, would I be able to replace it with an intel core processor? If any other details are need please tell me and I'll do my best to add them. Quote
Vr5fx Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Firstly, you can't mix AMD and Intel, they can't be integrated with each other I'm afraid. Quad core is decent to today's standards, but someone may say otherwise :P Do you have the link to where you purchased your computer from? Or the model number? that way it will be easier to find out what is compatible with your computer, being able to find the full specs. BenchZowner Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 You need to define your budget first. And also provide us with more info about your gaming habits and your monitor as well. What kind of games do you play ? What are your "demands" on the video quality settings ? You're ok with medium detail settings ? You "demand" to game at the game's highest detail settings ? Are you going to play "demanding" games like Crysis 2, BattleField 3, Metro2033, etc ? And tell us which monitor you own. Being a TFT you'll either have to play at its native resolution or at a lower resolution with black bars instead of image scaling to avoid the graphics corruption. Quote
