Guest Chris Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I installed a canon ip3500 on XP pro, In printing profiles I set up paper source to "front for plain paper". Sometimes when I log off and log back on later, it changes back to "rear tray". This is very annoying. I also have 10 user accounts I need to create and I don't want to go through this hassle of changing paper source for each account when it changes back on its own.Can anyone tell me how I can either tweak the driver to change the default paper source to front, or make a change in the registry? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Guest JS Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Re: Problem with printer paper source keeps changing back to default settings Try adding a new printer (Control Panel/Printers and Faxes/Add a printer) Use the same Brand/Model Number as the current printer in the Wizard. But give it a unique printer name by appending: Front Plain Paper after the default printer name. Now you will have two Cannon printers displayed in the list of available printers. One of which should have a name similar to: Canon ip3500 - Front Plain Paper Right click on the new printer you just added and select 'Properties' Most likely in the General tab/Advance you should be able to set the paper source to "front for plain paper", click 'Apply' and the 'OK' button. You should now have a printer preconfigured with the settings that meet your requirements.
