tammy jo Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 screen is ok on the left hand side, but vertical lines on the right hand side. I don't know much about laptops/computers to know what to do to fix this? or do I have to take it in. I bought this for my son in October 2011. Quote

If the laptop was new in October 2011 then surely it is still covered by the warranty ? I suggest that you check the guarantee period ( usually 1 year ) and then contact the supplier for a repair. This should be free. If you have to return the machine then I suggest that you remove any sensitive data from the hard drive. The machine could be replaced ( unlikely but .....) You don't want your sensitive data available to workshop techs anyway :) You can, of course, ask any further questions of us relating to this or other pc problems :) ============== Just a thought .... If you have a monitor that you can connect to the laptop - do this and if the lines show on the monitor too then it is possibly a video problem ( on the main board of the laptop ) If the picture is normal then the problem lies between the mainboard and the screen itself. It could be a connection problem. I don't suppose the machine was dropped was it ?
