Guest Gerry V. Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 XP Home edition Excel 2003 I recently downloaded a program which is based on Excel. However when I click on a link in the home page to another page in the program, I get the message "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer, Please contact your administrator." As the sole user of my lap top, I have contacted myself but don’t know what to do. Any help will by warmly welcomed.

Guest Maria O Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Re: Operation cancelled due to restrictions in Excel 2003 See previous posts - this is an OS/IE problem, not an Excel or Outlook problem. But I haven't been able to find a fix for it yet. Guest Maria O Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Re: Operation cancelled due to restrictions in Excel 2003 There are a number of threads (sorry, I used the wrong term) on "restriction on this computer...." most seem to happen when using Outlook, and the microsoft line is "it's OS/IE not Outlook" I did the changing IE to be default, and Outlook to be default and rewriting a registry key - all to no avail. Guest Gerry V. Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 RE: Operation cancelled due to restrictions in Excel 2003 Rey The program I downloaded is MyScores_Long_V3.1 from http://www.archers-docs.co.uk/ .. When I click on say B16 (FITA 70M) I get the message ‘The operation has been ……..’. I don’t have the knowledge or confidence to make amendments to the Registry. Thanks for your interest Gerry V. Guest Gerry V. Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Re: Operation cancelled due to restrictions in Excel 2003 Kelly This may seem silly to you, but I'm not sure I know how to access the Registry to check for restrictions.
