Which version of PerfectDisk update do I need?

Recommended Posts

I've got PD 2008, and want to do the manual update. However, under the

downloads there's an x86 download and an x64. Which one do I want?

Running XPHome, SP2.

Thanks for all input.

X86 generally refers to a 32-Bit operating system. Unless you are

running a 64-Bit version of Windows you want the x86 Build 64.

Did the OP leave out any XP newsgroups in his cross-posting frenzy? And then

asks a question totally unrelated to XP. You'd think he'd be more concerned

about keeping XP updated, but I guess it's more important to be defragged.

'Doc' appears on the "Do Not Help" list. Maybe that's why.

I didn't see the OP, even though Doc isn't in my filters or blocked senders

list. I just realized the "yahoo.com" does get filtered out.

Congratulations, you've now contributed not one but two pointless,

bandwith-wasting posts that contain no information, and I see, to all

of the same newsgroups.

I guess you wanted to make sure they all heard your whining.

Well, you're hardly in a finger-pointing position of strength since your

original post was off-topic without even any humble acknowledgement of such

(and you started the cross-posting).

Now is a great time to point you to one of the easiest ways to find

information on problems you may be having and solutions others have found:

Search using Google!

http://www.google.com/

(How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )

Example (specific to your case):

A google search for

x86 or x64 "Windows XP"

http://www.google.com/search?q=x86+or+x64+%22Windows+XP

(Windows XP is in quotation marks in the search because I wished to keep the

words "Windows" and "XP" together and only return the web pages that

contained the exact phrase "Windows XP" in it.)

P.S. - Windows XP Home Edition (what you say you have) only came in 32bit -

so you have an x86 operating system (OS).

Google must have forgotten to consult you when they made it possible

to X-post. Let's see now, did I include any groups related to cats,

Scientology, spanking, equestrian events, NASCAR, etc...hmmm, nope -

all ng's specifically related to XP issues, so your and your butt-

buddy's foppish whining is still just that.

Now run along playing netkop with your shiny plastic badge and cute

little hat that keeps slipping off your head until Mommy calls you in

for dinner.

Appears your fellow wunderkind is so brill-yunt he can't keep track of

who he's replying to.
