Guest JClark Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Hello Group: Windows XP Pro SP3, all updates This seems peculiar. I added a program which as usual appeared at the end of my list in Start|Programs. I right clicked on one of the programs to sort them by name, but the context menu has disappeared. It's peculiar because the right click context menue is working fine for any other file or folder in Windows Explorer. I ran ShellExView and found nothing peculiar there in terms of disabled items, except perhaps this: There are four items named "column handler" under "type". All four have identical description, size and version numbers but different CLSIDs. Three of the four are disabled. There are no other Microsoft items disabled. Whether this means anything or not, I don't know, of course. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Jack

Go to Start -> Control Panel and double click Taskbar and Start Menu. Click on the Start Menu tab. Hit the Customize button. 1. If you're using the XP style menu, click on the Advanced tab. In the Start menu items box, make sure "Enable dragging and dropping" is checked. Click OK twice. 2. If you're using the Classic menu, look in the "Advanced Start Menu options" box for "Enable dragging and dropping". Make sure it's checked. Click OK twice. Good luck Nepatsfan
