Guest William Fields Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I may have messed up... I just did a brand new 2008 install "without hyper-v" because the one included in 2008 was beta code. I was assuming I'd be able to download and install Hyper-V either from MSDN subscribers area, or from the public downloads area. Is it possible to download/install RTM Hyper-V to a an install of "Server 2008 Without Hyper-V"? If so, what do I need to download and where can I find it? Thanks.

No. You need to install the correct version of Server 2008 x64 with Hyper-V. You can then add the RTM version of Hyper-V from Windows Update. (In fact it will just happen if you have automatic updates on). After the update installs and you reboot you can enable the Hyper-V role.
