Guest JohnB Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Our users work exclusively through RDP. For some reason a handful of users were given local admin rights, so that they could send each other messages using Task Manager. I found this article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786099.aspx Which says "You must have Message permission in order to send messages". And I looked at what rights Remote Desktop Users has, and it includes the Send Message right. But... our users that don't have local admin rights still can't send a message using this method. Can anyone else use this Send Message option, without having local admin rights? TIA

Guest Soo Kuan Teo [MSFT] Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Re: Send Message - Admin Rights What is the Windows version of Terminal Services are you running? by default i believe post Win2k3 Remote Desktop Users do not have send message permissions. You can set the permissions with tscc.msc (or tsconfig.msc in win2k8)->Permissions tab Thanks Soo Kuan -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
