Can you access Safe Mode and try to access the Event \logs for Application there? Do you have an up2date Antivirus application and antimalware software to run a thorough scan? Try the system file checker and make sure you logged as admin to perform this procedure. Try to stop the serives in Services comntrol panel then Restart it again. Open the Registry Editor and let me know the entry/Value for application Applet: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog Mine looks like this: DisplayNameFile REG_EXPAND_SZ %SystemRoot%\System32\els.dll DisplayNameID REG_DWORD 0x00000100 (256) File REG_EXPAND_SZ %SystemRoot%\System32\config/AppEvent.Evt MaxSize REG_DWORD 0x00080000 (524288) PrimaryModule REG_SZ Application RestrictGuestAccess REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1) Retention REG_DWORD 0x00093a80(604800) Source REG_MULTI_SZ WSH WMIAdapter........
