I am running a hp computer and I want to know how do I find what motherboard I have. I want to know so i can look into upgrading other components of the pc or if I need to upgrade the motherboard first

Link to PC: Here

The only difference between that computer and my current one is I have 8 GB of RAM now.

Hi, I assume you have had the cover off and looked to see if there is any identification name or number on the board?

If nothing obvious it may be a board made for HP.

Try installing Speccy, that can sometimes find the details of the motherboard for you. Download and install Speccy from here=

http://www.piriform.com/speccy

you should see all the relevant parts listed on the left, just click on Motherboard. It will tell you all it can find about it.

Nev.

Without opening the case CPU-z ( cpuid.com ) and/or AIDA64 ( aida64.com ) are the best software option IMHO.

Especially for Laptops AIDA64 is the best solution as it can read extended info from the motherboard ( if the manufacturer has filled the info of course ) to be precise for the multi-configuration laptop models, etc.
