Game installed fine, but wont play....

Hi everyone...probably/hopefully just a simple one...

i've got xp with sp3, and i found 'pro rugby manager 2' in a charity shop...happy days......

however, i've managed to install the game without any issue, then when i go to play it, i just get an error message straight away.... "setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close"........ the game is from 2005 and installed and played fine on the missus' laptop running vista.

i've tried uninstalling/reinstalling but the same problem happens again....

this has me rather stumped to say the least... so any help or suggestions would be hugely appreciated....Thnx

Hi, till someone with more games experience sees this, make sure the laptop is disconnected from the internet first, then turn off both firewall and antivirus just in case one or the other is blocking it.

I assume you have the minimum specs needed which are really low.

 

Windows 98/ME/2000/XP

Graphics card: 32MB 3D graphics card

System Memory: 256 MB

Processor: 500 Mhz Pentium III or faster

Free Hard Disc Space: 1.6 GB

DIRECTX 9 or higher

Sound Card: DX compatible

i have more than enough in all categories, but i cant find any details on the graphics card.... it's a built in graphics card but it just says "unavailable" when i try to look at the specs....even so, im sure it would be good enough to run the game?...

update, graphics card is fine.... in theory, the game should run no problem...
