frodotheogre Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 more of an annoyance than anything, but as the title states, java.exe is running at anywhere between 70-99%... is this normal? does it need to be running at these levels? and is there anything i can do to calm it down? Quote

I am now a little concerned at such a high percentage, is this all the time or only when doing certain things? Also where are you getting this reading from, Task Manager or some other third party software? If you do not yet use Malwarebytes download, from here= http://www.malwarebytes.org/ hover your pointer over "Products" on the top bar, then select Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free. It will take you to a mirror site, that is normal. Once downloaded and installed use the update function then run a quick scan. frodotheogre Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 yes it's the same pc, it's a 'hp pavillion 061' i've changed the harddrive, and swapped the two 256m ram sticks with two 512m sticks, but not added anything else.... java runs on startup, and i try to end the process through task manager, but it just comes straight back everytime...
