Guest Ron Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I have a Dell with standard SATA HD (no RAID). I just did a clean install of XP Pro and installed the Recovery Console. Computer boots fine into Windows, but when I try to access the RC I get a BSOD: Unmountable__Boot_Volume 0x000000ED (Ox8A7D34A0, 0xC000014F, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) Any ideas on how to get RC to work?

Guest Jack B. Pollack Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Re: Recovery Console BSOD Thanks for your reply. This did not help. My drive is SATA and this article refers specifically to IDE (not sure why this problem would care what interface the drive has anyway) I *can* get into Windows, but can't get into the RC This article refers to installing a critical update from 2002. I am running SP3 "Xandros" <arron.neus*remove*@gmail.com> wrote in message news:O8IV1OxHJHA.1304@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > check here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315403/en-us > > -- > > Xandros > > > "Ron" <no@no.com> wrote in message > news:u8nIfMwHJHA.944@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > >I have a Dell with standard SATA HD (no RAID). Guest frodo@theshire.net Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Re: Recovery Console BSOD it is likely that even tho the drive is not set up to do RAID that you still need the RAID driver available on a floppy so you can do the F6 driver install when booting the Recovery Console. XP does not have "true" SATA drivers built-in, it will only work when the chipset/bios is configured to have SATA emulating IDE.
