Guest Anteaus Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 RE: Windows Profiles 1. The usual technique is to install the printer driver using a local port (LPT1 or a TCP/IP port) and then assign the network port to it. This way it gets installed to the computer instead of to the user. 2. Programs are always installed to the computer, not to the useraccount. If it seems otherwise, this is because the shortcuts to launch it are in a user's profile instead of in the 'all users' profile. Whether (1) works in Vista I don't know. (2) definitely applies. Guest JS Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Re: Windows Profiles Printers - Yes not a problem. Software - Some software will give you an option for 'All Users' or only the user doing the install. Vista - All bets are off.
