Plastic Nev Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Hi, I also have read through that thread and one thing I see with a now new bit of knowledge. A member of a different forum I also advise on had similar troubles if not exactly the same, and like you was getting fed up as everything had been tried. I cannot as yet say who or where, as I don't have his permission. He then found totally on his own, that the power saving in Windows 7 was the cause. He found that when the system was kicking into power save mode, the voltage on the CPU was dipping too low for the CPU to continue and was shutting down. He turned off all power saving modes and the problem was solved. This line on your first post is what gives me the clue= "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." Go to Control panel and select "Power Options" Make sure the dot is in "Balanced" then click on change plan settings, make sure that "Never" is selected for both. Click on "Apply" and then OK. There may be more options available on your laptop as I am looking at a desktop. Let us know if that works or not. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help.
