Hi all

Its possible I have posted here about this in the past but don't seem to find the answers so please bear with me.

I have noticed that I am again getting ads appearing (actual graphics) that tie in with the stuff I have been browsing (web pages and Youtube videos)

Obviously my preferences are being traced and ads along those lines directed at me.

Can you tell me how to stop this happening?

ATM I'm doing a full scan with SuperantiSpyware which I'm sure will help as its already come up with 57 tracking cookies but I believe there are other actions I need to take?

Thanks

Ray

Hi Ray

Are you getting targeted on this site or generally ?

I use a piece of software called DNT+ ( Do Not Track + )

http://www.abine.com/dntdetail.php

It runs in the background and all you will notice is a green square top right of screen

You can click on this to see the results.

One of the Security guys will be able to advise further I am sure.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Sounds familiar PEV. Was that you I replied to before?

Most likely it's just targeted ads based on your browsing history. Deleting your temporary internet files and cookies will clear it up. You should do this on a regular basis anyway. I do it several times a day.

Go to Internet options to delete your browsing history in Internet Explorer.

Hi Ray,

Deleting your temporary internet files and cookies will clear it up.

If you are using Internet Explorer, there's an easy way to clear the Temporary Internet Files.

From within IE:

Click on Tools >> Internet Options.

Click on the Advanced tab.

Scroll down the list and look under the Security section ( near the bottom)..... place a tick against Empty Temporary Internet Files when browser is closed.

Click Apply ... OK.

Your temp internet files will now automatically be cleared each time you close down IE.
