Ap194 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Hello forum, I hope that someone may be able to help me with two questions involving me purchasing a new Graphics card. The Card I want to buy is a EVGA/Nvidia Geforce GTX560 ti (1GB), Super-clocked GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card My Questions: 1. Firstly will I be able to use the specified Graphics Card that I wish to purchase on my PC with my current hardware/software (and if the card will fit the cords/sockets of my pc)? 2. Secondly I want to know if this card along with my other computer specs will be enough to play new games like Battlefield 3 (currently able to play Battlefield 3 at lowest settings with a low to medium frame-rate on my current PC) at a medium to high visual quality with high frame-rate My Computer Specs: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) - Service Pack 1 Intel Core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz - 2.80 Ghz 8 Gb Ram Currently installed Nvidia Geforce GT430 Graphics Card Using a 21.5 inch Samsung Syncmaster Monitor ------------------------------------------------------------------ Thx, Ap194 Quote
Plastic Nev Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Hi and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help, the one thing we do need to know is the motherboard make and model, or at least the computer make and model to be able to help further, also the current size of the power supply as the new card may need more power than the one you have now. KenB Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Hi and welcome to ExTS You new card is 9 inches long compared with the 5 inches of your old one. You need to make sure that you have the space. Both cards require a PCIe x 16 slot - so no problem there. For the new card you will need a mimimum ( ideally more ) 500 Watt PSU and 2 x 6 pin PCI power connections Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
