(Open the Run box and enter: regedit) [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] Example: C:\Program Files\program path\app.exe Change to: "C:\Program Files\program path\app.exe" ju.c "Natka" <natka@heaven.org> wrote in message news:linsd490k4gg8e21tfr43p4pksretf72o1@4ax.com... > hello... > win xp pro sp3 > problem > for last few days...when i restart my pc it is loading perfectly and > on the end is opening one of my folder....so i have to close it to > see my desktop > i couldn't find anything related to the name of this folder in startup > it is not big deal..but just drive me mad that i cant fix it... > > thank you very much for any help in this matter > best regards > natka

This utility will generate a log file that you can copy and paste into a reply messsage. Run the tool and post the info under: -- Registry -- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run -- Registry -- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Generally, the Running Processes and the Services sections aren't necessary. -- Rey "Natka" wrote: > On Sun, 28 Sep 2008 06:59:01 -0700, Rey Santos > <ReySantos@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > >Check your folder options: > >In Windows Explorer, click Tools menu > Folder Options > View tab > Advanced > >settings, uncheck "Restore previous windows at logon if it is checked". > hi... > was unchecked... > thank you for your time... >
Guest Kelly Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Re: Unwanted folder Knowing the complete path, will better allow you to find its remnants and uninstall. Here is another option: For a detailed list of all installed software: http://www.belarc.com/Download.html In the Software Versions section you'll see all of your installed software. At the end of each entry is a clickable asterisk that will take you to the folder the software is installed in. -- All the Best, Kelly (MS-MVP/DTS&XP) Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm SupportSpace http://www.supportspace.com/pages?aiu=kellyskorner "Natka" <natka@heaven.org> wrote in message news:skh0e4d292rt8jc1siqibr4ivs7jpumasi@4ax.com... > On Sun, 28 Sep 2008 01:06:37 -0700, "ju.c" > <bibidybubidyboop@mailnator.com> wrote: > >>Check these Registry keys for entries with paths that contain spaces, but >>have no quotes. >> >>(Open the Run box and enter: regedit) >> >>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] >>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] >> >>Example: >>C:\Program Files\program path\app.exe >> >>Change to: >>"C:\Program Files\program path\app.exe" >> >> >>ju.c > hi... > i couldn't find anything containing the name of this folder... > thank you for your time... >> >> >>"Natka" <natka@heaven.org> wrote in message >>news:linsd490k4gg8e21tfr43p4pksretf72o1@4ax.com... >>> hello... >>> win xp pro sp3 >>> problem >>> for last few days...when i restart my pc it is loading perfectly and >>> on the end is opening one of my folder....so i have to close it to >>> see my desktop >>> i couldn't find anything related to the name of this folder in startup >>> it is not big deal..but just drive me mad that i cant fix it... >>> >>> thank you very much for any help in this matter >>> best regards >>> natka >
