Guest RS_WMT Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I would like to retreive offline files from a drive, the drive is from another laptop, which decided to die on me. I have attached the drive to another laptop and would like to retreive the files from the CSC folder on that drive. Is it possible to restore these files to normal file system files without actually using this drive as the boot drive. Please help. -- RS_WMT

Of course, since you were using Offline Files, the best course of action would be to get the *server* copies of those files onto the new laptop. However, if that isn't possible for some reason (they weren't sync'd, etc), get an external USB drive caddy and mount up the drive, see if you can navigate to the folders. You may need to take ownership of them once you've got them copied over. Note that your folder structure won't be intact.
