Firewire Card Issue

Ive just installed a firewire card onto my desktop computer mainly for audio recording and production and basically when I record something it will kind of studder like the computer is lagging and then stop recording and keep going in playback. Ive read on another forum someone also having the same problem and a person replied that he should check if there were IRQ conflicts so I went to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information. Then I clicked hardware resources then I clicked Conflicts/Sharing and I don't really understand anything in there but I do see PCI bus and thats where I installed the firewire card. So I was wondering if my computer is compatible with the card I have and if not then does anyone know of a card that is compatible with my computer.

When you click on

Conflicts/Sharing

Is your Rosewill showing in the list?

 

If so - what is with it and which IRQ number.

 

Just because there is a long list of "Conflicts / Sharing " most, if not all, of them will be OK as it is usual to share IRQs

A couple of questions though, first why the firewire card, is it because your external devices need firewire?

For good sound if you are going to do recording, and especially music, I would be installing a sound card as either or as well as. If you only have the on board sound, a sound card is a must for quality.
