Termional server vs. Regular shell

Recommended Posts

After restarting a PC with windows XP sp3 (or sp2 as well) I login into it

from another PC with remote desktop client. I get a Terminal Server shell

instead of the regular one. When I click on Start button I see the "Windows

Terminal Server" on the left blue bar. This behavior causes several problems

for applications (msde setup failed for example). The only workaround I found

is to login into the PC locally first and then to connect to it remotely. In

such case I get the correct shell.

Is there any resolution for the problem?

Thanks.
