The log states the file is stored in the root of the volume, so if Windows is installed on C:, it should be located in C:\ . What brand of drive is it? Find out and download the diagnostic tool from the manufacturers website and run a complete check. I had each of my three drives fail within a year once, so don't wait too long. Fortunately I had good backups and was able to clone prior to failure on two of them. -- Terry R. ***Reply Note*** Anti-spam measures are included in my email address. Guest Pegasus \(MVP\) Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Re: Error at startup The "Bad block" message may have been a glitch or your disk might have a marginal sector. However, if the manufacturer's testing tool gave it a clean bill of health then I tend to favour the glitch theory. You should be right with your 160 GB disk, provided that you use SP2 or higher.
