segandy Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Hi Guys, Sorry if this is in teh wrong forum but as i'm not sure of the fault I put it in misc. Anyway - here goes..... A colleague at work had some issues with her Windows XP PC which required a reinstallation. All went fine with the installation, the PC boots into windows, drivers install, accesses the internet etc After a short while the graphics just dissapear from my monitor. Its as if the PC is going into hibernate, but it wont come back onscreen after using the mouse/keyboard. Ive looked at all settings and nothing is amiss in that dept (its a fresh install anyway, everything is default). I removed the graphics card and used the onboard VGA - same problem. Ive tried a couple of reinstallations - same problem. Ive used a different HDD - same again Different VGA cable - same again All the drivers have been updated too. I know its not the monitor because it runs perfectly with my PC. Just one last point - for about the last 2 hours i've had it switched on but without a HDD. Its just at a DOS prompt and hasn't dropped out.......... Cheers Andy Quote
