Latest update corrupted question mark

This computer was working fine when I was about to power down last night - it was updated as it switched off.

This morning nothing worked something like SWMBO's Studio One in the malware thread. This one wouldn't even open to show the windows screen.

 

I tried safe mode and eventually it worked restoring to a date of the 13th of this month.

Was the last update corrupted?

Or was it something else?

Has anyone else been affected similarly?

I assume you mean the Windows updates and relating to Vista or Windows 7 Jim? As yet not had any similar comments from Vista or Windows 7 users on the forums I am a member of, but will watch out for any problems and cures. At least you managed to escape it by S.R. in safe mode.

I am also using Windows 7 and no updates yesterday for me.
