Guest Bruce Hagen Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Re: Midi music in emails Are you using Outlook Express? Outlook Express General newsgroup: http://news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general On the Web: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general You probably are attaching the MIDI, but just can't hear it. The volume setting ranges from -10000 to 0 with -10000 being off and 0 being full volume. Before you insert the background sound you need to make sure your volume setting is correct. Double click the speaker icon by the clock. For a MIDI file it will use the volume control labeled "SW Synth" or something similar. It may vary depending on your sound card. You can check your settings by clicking the Source Tab at the bottom of the Compose Message window and looking for this tag <BGSOUND balance=0 src="filepath to soundfile"> and setting the volume to zero (0). If not already there, View | Source Edit - Check it. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "HughGrandpa" <HughGrandpa@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:71571777-FF27-4506-B952-1E27B741879E@microsoft.com... >I used to be able to attach midi music in the background of my emails but >now > for some unknown reason I can't.Can anyone help me to solve this problem. > Thanks. > -- > Grandpa

Guest Bruce Hagen Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Re: Midi music in emails Then read my reply. Your sound settings are wrong. Double click on the speaker icon and raise the volume for MIDIs. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "HughGrandpa" <HughGrandpa@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2DF24F95-03F7-452C-933F-588758D12B46@microsoft.com... > Yes I am using Outlook Express. > -- > Grandpa > > > "Bruce Hagen" wrote: > >> Are you using Outlook Express? >> >> Outlook Express General newsgroup: >> http://news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general >> >> On the Web: >> http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general >> >> >> You probably are attaching the MIDI, but just can't hear it. >> >> The volume setting ranges from -10000 to 0 with -10000 being off and 0 >> being >> full volume. >> >> Before you insert the background sound you need to make sure your volume >> setting is correct. Guest Bruce Hagen Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Re: Midi music in emails YW. If you get an incoming e-mail with low sound settings, that can change your settings anytime you play it. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "HughGrandpa" <HughGrandpa@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:FC392359-3E98-453F-A604-C8F5B32D0D2A@microsoft.com... > Thanks for your help, the problem is solved.By the way I am using Creative > Sound Blaster Fi.
