Guest deostroll Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Hi, Suppose if I want to start a program which exists in my start menu, it does not work. It opens up the dialog that allows us to choose which program we want to execute. It is behaving as if this file is not associated with an exe. Even an exe file is not getting file- associated. Moreover, when I try to change the system time/date it throws a error message box saying Cannot find file c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe This sounds like a virus problem to me. Any idea on tackling this without the use of antivirus software...? -deostroll

Guest deostroll Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Re: Start menu items and commands typed in Run dialog not working... Hi, I also have a rundll.exe problem. At start up I get a message box saying Cannot find rundll.exe. And then it suggests that I search for it... -deostroll
Guest Bob I Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Re: Start menu items and commands typed in Run dialog not working... You DON'T want that file. Run MSCONFIG and uncheck the Startup entry that points to it. deostroll wrote: > Hi, > > I also have a rundll.exe problem. At start up I get a message box > saying Cannot find rundll.exe. It was under a key called shell, and its value was 'explorer.exe rundll.exe'. You've to change it. --deostroll
