windows 2003 Server changing spool tmp file path.

I'm running windows 2003 Server on a Dell PE2500. As the server is

being used much more as a heavy print server, the system drive keeps

running out of space due to a build up of tmp files. Is there a way to

change the location of the tmp files from the spooler to another

larger drive ?

You can change the spool folder path very easily. In your printers & faxes

window, File | Server Properties, Advanced tab.

Where are the files created?

Where is spool directory located? (Printers folder, File, Server

Properties, Advanced).

If these are LPR*.tmp or TCP*.tmp these are coming from the spooler and

should reside the spool directory. These will not be cleaned up if the

spooler crashes and restarts.

These are ppr###.tmp files which are being created in the c:\windows

\temp\ folder. The spool directory was redirected to d:\windows\temp

but I don't think this was the problem (spool seems to clean up).

This files get created via the print process whether I print from a

shared station or the server itself. For teh record I am printed 500

plus page pdf raster docs.
