Re: How to delete any unwanted apps fixed icon from My Computer area and its fixed Desktop shortcut? You could check here: Start/Run/Regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\\namespace The icons displayed on your desktop comes from two sources. Launch explorer and navigate to "c:\documents and settings\All Users\Desktop" and "c:\documents and settings\[user name]\desktop". Try directly deleting the references there. -- All the Best, Kelly (MS-MVP/DTS&XP) Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm SupportSpace http://www.supportspace.com/pages?aiu=kellyskorner "oc9ine" <oc9ine@gmail.com> wrote in message news:u$gvCw6IJHA.508@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Hi, > > I have win xp sp3. Those icons are in the notification area of the Taskbar. To remove them, open the individual programs and somewhere in teir preferences is probably an option to hide or remove them from the Notification (tray) area. -- Joe =o)
