Lose Shares When Server Rebooted

I connect to a SAN using ISCSI, and create shares on those drives, but

everytime I reboot the server, I lose the shares that were created. How do I

make these permanent so I don't have to recreate everytime?

thanks -- dee

Share details are kept here:

hklm/system/currentcontrolset/services/lanmanserver/shares

Maybe you have insufficient access rights to this registry value so that

nothing gets recorded.

I am logged onto the server as an Admin account and it does have permissions

to this registry key.

Re: Lose Shares When Server Rebooted

You need to do some basic tests, e.g. these:

- Did you check these registry values?

- Before and after a reboot?

- Did you try to add your own values?

Re: Lose Shares When Server Rebooted

I had this same issue, and as I recall, it was a two fold process - one, I

needed to upgrade my version of the iSCSI initiator. Two, I had to change a

dependency via command line, as I recall. If you Google "iSCSI initiator

lose shares" you'll see lots of references, but here's one with the command

line to change the dependency:
