Guest jeremy_w07 Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I am now receiving a bluescreen screen that is stating the MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION with no error code assoicated with it, as Windows XP Pro loades, just before the logon screen. What could cause this to happen? -- Jeremy
Guest Alex T. MVP Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 RE: Bluescreen Error Message This error message is most likely realted to a problem with the hard drive having a bad sector. http://search.microsoft.com/Results.aspx?qsc0=0&q=MACHINE+CHECK+EXCEPTION&PageType=99&mkt=en-US&FORM=QBME1&l=1 You will need a XP CD to start to fix this. Start with hte XP CD and go into the Recovery Console. From there do a chkdsk /f for it to scan the disk and fix any errors that it finds. Restart to see if hte message is still there. -- ~A.K.A.
