Re-install Remote Routing and Access (RRAS) Windows Server 2003

I have always gotten to RRAS through Administrative Tools ----> Remote

Routing and Access. RRAS is no longer being shown here. Somehow my RRAS has

been removed. Is there anyway to re-install this without installing the

operating system?

Have a look for the following: %SystemRoot%\system32\rrasmgmt.msc, If its

there create a shortcut to it and place it in the Administrative Tools Menu.

If its not there you may need to re-add RRAS through the "Manage Your

Server" screen and the add/remove roles section.

You definitely don't need to re-install the server.

I did as James suggested. The file rrasmgmt.msc was present and in the

directory specified. After creating the shortcut RRAS DID show in the

Administrative Tools., however; when I attempted to run RRAS, I got ('Files

can not be found'). I received the same response when attempting the

add/remove roles. After further searching I found and downloaded the

Microsoft Remote Access Repair Tool (rarepair.exe). While running this tool,

I got into an endless loop of rebooting the Server. I had to boot to

SAFEMODE and select 'boot from last known good configuration'. I still need

to install RRAS, can I do this from one of Windows 2003 Operating System CAB

files?

Hi Bob, sorry to hear of the problems you have had! Have you tried adding

through control panel>add remove programs>add remove windows components. Its

in there somewhere.

James.

RE: Re-install Remote Routing and Access (RRAS) Windows Server 2003

I have checked adding Windows components and still can not find where to add

the RRAS. I examined each of the components and checked all the details of

their associtate programs. The only thing close was 'Remote Access

Quarantine Service' which might be helpful if I had RRAS running. I do

appreciate your replys James. Any suggestions.
