hijackthis cannot write a log to 'hosts'

I've downloaded hijack this and tried to do a scan and get a log analyzed but windows 7 wont allow this. Is there an obvious answer I'm missing.

Hi Jim, please don't bother with Hijack this, it is now outdated and not a lot of use, go to our malware section and follow the instructions for all the logs which will include OTL.
