Guest melu Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Hi, We are running a windows 2003 terminal server. I have seen the error Windows - Low on Registry Space" and the body states, "The system has reached the maximum size allowed for the system part of the registry. Additional storage requests will be ignored" We are not using the /3GB switch. The server has 1GB of memory. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Guest MikeK Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Re: Windows 2003 Terminal Server getting "Low on Registry Space" Check your NTUSER.DAT files in your user's profiles. If they're excessivly large (5mb or so) they can eat up all the system registry space. The culprit for me was the following Registry Keys: - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server \Install\Software\hewlett-packard - HKUsers\.Default\Software\Hewlett-Packard I deleted all the subkeys, and deleted all profiles on the machine.
Guest melu Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Re: Windows 2003 Terminal Server getting "Low on Registry Space" Hi, I did check the NTUSER.DAT files. Their are many users but only in total found only 4 NTUSER.DAT files - when I search. One of them is over 5MB, another is around 4MB and the remaining two are small files. So I suspect its not that. How did you trace that HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server \Install\Software\hewlett-packard - HKUsers\.Default\Software\Hewlett-Packard are the culprits? Thanks for your help
