tracy2016uk Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Hi , (id like to say sorry in advance for my lack in knowledge about the technical stuff on pc) So i used to play games alot on my pc then suddenly one day i started getting " display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" i really despise that message. any way it is only during playing games ive tried everything from wow to dc universe to even silly games like plants vs zombies and zoo tycoon, no matter the game i always get it. I have updated my graphics card thingy, and i even uninstalled it and reinstalled it. its not over heating. im really at lost on why it happens. i can do anything else on my pc just not the things i want to do lol. oh it does allow me to play browser games, but honestly id rather watch grass grow. please help :p i have tried reading forums about this issue but in confuses me more than helps as i always see "pc talk" and just people saying they have the same problem. i do remember once seeing someone write about running a program that then saw things, it was like dvdigx or something sadly i never wrote it down and cant find it. anyway i remember i saw in the display part there was a error? not sure if that helps or just makes anyone laugh at me. :D i noticed in forums that people ask for more pc info..but im not sure how to get that...i do know its a vista and that the graphics card is a radeon x1650 . anyway ty if you can help me Quote
RandyL Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Hi tracy. Not much of a big gamer myself but I can answer a question or two. Your profile says Windows XP so letting us know you have Vista is a good thing. The diagnostic you refer to is dxdiag. Go to your run box. Since this is Vista it might be in Accesories. type dxdiag then click OK. The good part here is that it will tell you more about your system specs as well as being a diagnostic tool. KenB Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Directx v11 is fine. Your video card is only Directx 9 compatible - so you will not get the full benefit of Directx 11. it was like dvdigx .............. error? I think this refers to dxdiag :) Start > type in ....dxdiag .........ENTER Look in "Display" Let me know what the error is ( if there is one ) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
